I recently bought a Dugood wireless USB DAC-3W, however, the whole manual is in Chinese and there is no spec on the Balanced Output.
I beleive the single ended output is 2V, however the spec on the Balanced Output is not published.

I have noticed that the Balance Output volume is much much lower than the RCA.

I normally listen at 45% volume level from my McIntosh MA-6600 Integrated Amp, however, switching to XLR on this unit, I have to raise the volume up to about 65% to get about the same level of volume to the RCA.

While you do not list this particular model on your website, perhaps you have the info I am looking for. The person whom I bought it from speculated that the Balanced Ouput is about 1.5V???

Any info on this would be appreciated.

Hi akai,

You are correct. The single ended output of this unit is 2V but balanced output is only 1.5V which is a quite low and it is normal. Actually, balanced standard is at 4V. This is why you have to raise more volume from your Mac. To turn up volume control is no harm but you can feel uncomfortable with this behavior.

Thanks for the confirmation. Very unusal to have XLR output lower than RCA. My other DAC with XLR output is at 4V which is twice the RCA of 2V.

As far as raising the volume, my Mc has a programmable gain for each source to compensate for differences so I do not have to raise/lower volume every time I switch sources.

By the way, there is an interesting product line that only sells through the internet called Emotiva, see Emotiva.com, quite an interesting comapny, perhaps you may be interested in representing them in Thailand.

You're welcome.

I did not advice you to adjust the gain of your preamp or power amp, since there is very few amps which could adjust the gain. Fortunately that your MAC can do this.

Thanks for your recommendation on Emotiva. I will explore it.... Very Happy
