OK � I don't feel like writing a long review� Considering the level of differences between the two component and the price difference (Ayre is $1,000 more) Look at my equipment and decide if I have good taste or not�. My conclusion: The Calyx _trounces_ the Ayre. Boy do I love my Calyx. I did not know I liked it that much until tonight�.

Ayre: muted, boring, uninvolving, lifeless, slow, (where is the PRAT?)
Calyx: generous, spooky-real, lively, fast, reveals the acoustics of the venue, amazing PRAT

I see _absolutely_ no reason to prefer a Calyx over a QB-9
